I Padiglioni del Sile
New perspectives for the requalification of the centre of Morgano

Competition - Entry project
Morgano, Treviso (IT), 2024

The project for Morgano aims to reconnect the urban center with its natural surroundings, restoring balance between the built environment and the landscape of the Sile River. The Church of San Martino, the Rio canal, and the presence of the water system become the main reference points for redefining the town’s identity.

The intervention focuses on creating a continuous and accessible public space, where a new central square and the urban park along the river establish a strong dialogue between architecture and nature. The square becomes the civic heart of Morgano, designed to host everyday activities as well as larger community events. The park extends this system, enhancing ecological connections and offering new spaces for leisure and observation.

The ephemeral pavilions punctuate the landscape as flexible and reversible structures, acting as focal points and devices for interaction. Cycle and pedestrian paths, new riverfront connections, and carefully designed vegetation strengthen the sense of unity and coherence across the area.

Through a clear spatial structure and sustainable design principles, the project outlines a contemporary image for Morgano—one that values its historical core, enhances the natural environment, and promotes a renewed way of inhabiting public space.
